Answers web and cannot find a way to settle my computer's problem. when i open a hard drive it will show the open with window, even with explore, and i either have to type the drive on the address or use Folders tab. when removable drives come instead of opening the drive it went to search. please guys help me, I am very irritated as I met a simpler situation last time, rather than this that lasted long.

my computer is free of spyware, and had it scanned with Norton Internet Security, AVG, and Avast Antiviruses.

I have the same problem, however, I can't not select ''Always use this'' option. Report It

Why is it that when I install 2 security applications in the same computer, both don't work?

Iv'e installed Zonealarm Firewall, and use the free Norton Spyware Scan that comes with the Yahoo Toolbar.

They are 2 completely different types of security, but why is it that when both of them are installed, neither work? I uninstalled both of them, and tried one at a time, and they work properly then.

I'm going to install the full Norton Antivirus, and I need it to work.

Dont install 2 firewalls or antiviruses at the same time as this causes collisions between them and therefore causes your system to crash. Only have 1 antivirus , 1 firewall and 1 antispy . Dont use Norton , use AVG . AVG is free and does a much better job then norton .

I agree with the first answer. Only install one of any type of security application.

Keep in mind that if you are using a router for your DSL or cable broadband connection, you may have a hardware firewall. Therefore a software firewall really would be redundant and not necessary.

Good luck!
i would keep zone alarm firewall as its the best, i would assume you have the pro or security one with spyware option? if thats the case that would explain the conflict with the toolbar one.

My computer is in a perpetual state of reboot?

O.K. here is the deal. I was givin a computer and when I would go on MySpace the computer would give me a pop up error that said there was an error and then my computer would reboot itself. I ran Norton thinking I had a virus and it said my computer had none, but when I looked at Norton again I noticed it expired in 2003. I have DSL through Embarq and they have free virus, spyware, and adaware downloads so I dedcided to do these. I had to uninstall Norton and then download the Embarq programs. Well the programs loaded and then gave me a message saying I had to reboot my computer to save changes. I hit o.k. and my computer went to reboot, but never came back on. When I turn it on it starts to start up, but the minute I see the screen that shows the Windows picture it turns off and reboots itself again. Please tell me how to make this stop. I can't get anything to open, so I can't click on my computer or any thing like that. It just keeps cycling over and over.

I would suggest doing a restore of your operating system. If you have the windows disc , start over.

  • Limewire and bearshare..?

legal? free? adware/spyware/trojans? is it compatible with a sony walkman? is it easy? what do you suggest?

    Limewire and bearshare..?aurora

illegal... i suggest you try something that wont land you in the slammer or on season three of prison break!

    try apple's itunes...

    Limewire and bearshare..?download

I have used both. Of the two I prefer BearShare personally. When you pay the downloads work better. It's proprietary software and installs on your computer. It is easy to use. Im not sure that the program will work on the walkman. They are designed to download programs, movies, mp3's.
limewire and bearshare is legal it only comes illegal.. when you start too download the software and copyright music .. movies free of adware/spyware/trojans? no it is not soon as you start too downoload your get more then adware/spyware/trojans? you will have virus /malware if you go downloading free software ..like pc games //windows os// anitvirus /antispyware then your computer will he like a car with 4 people in it going no ware
it is LEGAL!!its music thats already bought and other people are sharing it with you, its a sharing prgram thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    My Dear Friend,

First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.

If you're using Internet Explorer, might wanna check your security settings. Click on ''tools'', ''internet options'', then ''security'' to check your internet settings. Restricted sites may not load properly. Also, call your ISP's tech support, they may be able to help as well. Maybe DNS settings are off sync.

    Hope this helps!

Should i install Ubuntu or stick to Windows XP?avast

I hope that's 80GB, or 180GB harddrive! (Not sure if I've ever heard of a 180GB harddrive!) If you think malware,(spyware/viruses), are the culprit of you computers,(plural), demise, perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. It may be cheap power supplies, and/or dust build-up. Dust is an electrostatic magnet! Also clogs up cooling fans for the processor, power supply, and case. I have a C: drive, and D: drive in a partioned 250GB harddrive. The operating system, and backup files, and folders are on the D: drive. The C: drive is the one that's open to surfin, programs, etc. Creates a 'sandbox' where baddies can mess with the C: drive, but are taken out, like a bad habit. Can't get 'em out? Watch me! This is on my old system, Pentium4 3.2GHz processor, 1GB of 400Mhz ,(two 'sticks' of 512MB, in dual channel configuration), DDR ram, 250GB Sata Hitachi harddrive, WinXP Pro OS,and ATI Radeon X600XT graphics card,(won't go into the rest, points moot.) Maybe I was just lucky, I don't know. I run a Pentium4 2.5GHz, 1GB of 400MHz, DDR ram,( set up as above), with a 40GB harddrive, Visiontek ATI Radeon 9250, and Ubuntu 7.10 'Gutsy Gibbon', with Compiz Fusion window manager. This is a test system to see how I like the malware free environment, the 3d desktop with desktop effects enabled, and Mozilla Firefox browser, thousands of free applications,(OpenSource), and capabilitys to see the baddies crap, like looking at a man painted red standing in a white snow covered field! Hmmm, spyware,... click,.. bye! Hmmmm,... tracking cookie,..click, bye! It's too funny! However, just like when you learned about how to do things in Winblows, the first time, you must learn again! Oh yeah, about the Linux won't run games thing! Pffft! Use Wine! Put Wine HQ in your search bar, click on...Wait, here: http://www.winehq.org/, and here:http://appdb.winehq.org/, and here:http://appdb.winehq.org I'm here right now on Ubuntu 7.10! I likes it! Point to think about. Unix was the first real computer OS. Linux was formed from it. Then Winblows came along. Looks like a child next to Linux. Take the windows manager for example! Go to YouTube, put 'Windows Aero vs Ubuntu+Beryl' in Youtube's search bar.

What is the best Internet Speeder ? That adds speed to my Internet Connection!?

Free from Spyware; Shareware or Freeware and Tested

What is the best Internet Speeder ? That adds speed to my Internet Connection!?best antivirus software

if you're on broadband, there really isn't anything that helps much.

many programs claim to help, but they just want your money.

Even on dialup, the claims of speed increase are based on caching, so unless you surf the way they think (guess) you will, it doesn't help much.

What is the best Internet Speeder ? That adds speed to my Internet Connection!?firewall

    there's Google Web Accelarater

I can email you an installer
Having programs turned on that are constantly searching the internet behind the scenes can and does slow down the opening of internet pages.

I had some programs on my right task that worked like that. One of them being Webshots seemed to be a problem. I have removed all my programs so that they dont open automatically at start up. Except: my Nortons AntiVirus

For example.... best not to open Email or send files thru messengers while searching the internet.
