AVG is anti virus (free). Spybot Search an Destroy is spyware prog (free). Both say PC is ok. I do '' Counter Strike '' online wargaming. The mouse problem affects all programs. On or off line.

This is a classic sign of the mouse batteries running down.

go to start

go to control panel

choose mouse

set the speed
Take a look at what apprentice says but it may be as simple as crud on the ball and contacts in the mouse take a look at the two rollers in the bottom of the mouse when you remove the ball they should have NO marks or muck on them often it only looks like a thin line on the roller but can need quite a bit of elbow grease to get it off

Well, I am not a hundred percent sure this is the problem but it might be your mouse ball itself. The rollers that the ball moves might have less traction than before. Try replacing the mouse
